No News is Good News?

Mom arrived safe and sound on her long journey over here. Her first mission that she wanted to do straight off the train was call United (which worried me that she was headed straight back home). But instead she wanted to switch her flight route for her way back. Instead of going from Tokyo to Washington D.C. then from Washington D.C. to Minneapolis, she now will have a layover in San Francisco. This will save her at least 6 hours. I tried to warn her before she came that she had a ridiculous flight plan, but I am not sure she realized it until she was on the plane looking at the flight map going all the way back across the United States, and pass Minnesota where she just came from. Either way she is here...but no baby!

No baby news is good news for showing Mom some Japanese activities. Thursday we headed to the doctor. No progress labor wise, but he gained another 10 oz. He's tipping the scales these days at about 8 lbs 6 oz.  The doctor also said that he hasn't seen a baby with this big of a head...GREAT!! He thought it would be a great idea for Mom to join me at my next maternity aerobics session. I agree, great exercise!

From there the whole gang (all the North American imports) headed back to Lake Towada and the Oirase Gorge since Mom, Justin and the boys hadn't been there. The leaves had changed a ton since we were there the previous Sunday! It was breath taking!

The assistant coach's wife has been teaching the team Yoga one day a week, so they thought they would practice their "Tree Pose" out in the forest.

Justin wanted to get up close and personal with the falls.

This is one of the most famous statues in Northern Japan. The woman is looking at herself in the mirror...or in my case I am looking at myself in 32 years.

Beautiful island behind us at Lake Towada.

That night we thought we would take advantage of our no baby freedom, and head out to a nice dinner. Mom got to experience being able to grill your food right at our own table. It was all you can eat for 70 minutes. I think we did some serious damage!

The next day we were invited to a Halloween Party hosted by one of the wives on the team. We had a lot of fun spending time with everyone, and seeing the little ones in their Halloween costumes.

So, maybe it is good news that the baby hasn't come yet, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to enjoy all these fun activities! I am going to shoot for a Halloween Baby, you have to have some kind of goal right?
