Naschmarkt

Since one of my favorite things to do on a Saturday morning in the summer back home is go to the Farmer's Market, I figured that Vienna must have a pretty awesome one as well. So, I Googled farmer's markets in Vienna, and found the Naschmarkt. It is Vienna's most popular market that is located at the Wienzeile over the Wien River. In total it is 1.5 Kilometers long, and has existed since the 16th century.

We ventured there via U-Bahn last Saturday, and it definitely lived up to my expectations and then some! There were tons of restaurants, fresh produce, meats, seafood, cheeses, and handmade goods. Since it was Saturday, there was also a flea market going on as well...which was Justin's favorite ;).

We ate at Orient & Occident were the wife of the owner whips up some traditional Turkish home cooking.  I had the continental breakfast that included honey butter with walnuts, hummus, feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a date along side some amazing Arabian bread. It was fantastic. Justin went a little more traditional with an omelet that had Turkish ham, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, mushrooms, and basil.

We left the Naschmarkt with fresh strawberries, raspberries, parmesan-stuffed cherry tomatoes, and tiramisu coated nuts...all which were fantastic!!!
