It's good to be home!

Sorry that it has been months since I last blogged. After returning to Japan, Brayden and I had a hard time adjusting back to the Japan time zone. After we finally adjusted, time just flew by. Before we knew it, we were back on that giant jet headed home.

Japan was great to us this year. We were blessed to deliver Brayden there, where we had an amazing Doctor that took such great care of us. Before we left he even called and wanted to take Justin, Brayden, and I out to dinner. We had a great dinner, and it was a nice farewell.

Justin's team had a great year, and won the Asia League Championship. It was awesome to be able to win it at home, so we could watch the game and be a part of the celebration. The team won the championship on Justin's 30th Birthday. Talk about a memorable day!

We left Japan a week later. We sent our 6 checked bags down to the Narita airport two days before we were to fly out. What a great service to have so we don't have to bring all that luggage on the trains with us! In total we had 6 checked bags, 4 carry on bags, a car seat, stroller, and one cute little boy coming home. When my parents picked us up in our Tahoe, we had to puzzle piece everything together in the back to fit it all in...but we did it!

We couldn't have asked for a better baby to travel with! He took a nice morning nap on our 3 hour train ride to Tokyo station. He played with us on our next hour train ride. When we got to the airport, we were allowed to board first since he was so young. Our flight left at 3:30, perfect time for him to take his afternoon nap. He woke up for an hour then wanted to go back down for the night. In total he slept 9 out of the 11 hours of the flight! I know a lot of people asked me if his ears were okay. I took some other mother's advice and nursed him on takeoff and landing so he was constantly swallowing during the biggest altitude change, and that seemed to work great.

However, adjusting to a 14 hour time difference was not so easy. It only took him 3 days to get his days and nights figured out, but his eating schedule did not follow suite. He wanted to eat all night and not eat all day. Our pediatrician couldn't give us any advice on how to get him to adjust, so I finally had to buckle down and only let him eat once during the night. Let's just say there were many tears shed that night. My heart was breaking, but I stood firm. It was the best thing I could have done. He was eating lots the next day, and finally was back to his normal schedule the following night! Alleluia!!

It was so nice to see our family and friends again! Justin's parents were able to come spend the weekend with us as well. Brayden has sure felt the love since being back. He's even experienced a couple of doggy kisses from Titan!

This summer will be a busy one. I go back to work on April 22nd, so "Daddy-Day-Care" starts that day as well. Justin is also going back to school to finish his degree. He will be taking two classes this summer.

If anyone has any advice how to transition back to work easier let me know! I've been blessed to spend as much time as I have with Brayden, but it isn't going to be easy going back to work!
