A couple of weeks ago Kathy and Brad (the other North American couple) suggested for us to all go to Hachinohe Park. This park not only contains areas to enjoy a picnic, but also amusement park rides, a small zoo, botanical gardens, and much more. When she mentioned that they had Go-Carts, I knew I could convince Justin to go!
Justin took the slide instead of the stairs to the go-carts with a little push from Brad. |

Very small double go-cart...sorry for the large leg shot! |
Yes, both of our steering wheels worked, which made for an even better ride! |
The highlight of the park was the monkey exhibit. These are the famous snow monkeys that live in the mountains, and love to sit in the hot springs to keep warm in the winter. They were very entertaining to watch! Not sure what they were finding to eat off each other, but it was definitely "snack time" when we were watching...favorite place to investigate for food was each others bums.
The park also contained lots of caged wildlife such as: deer, goats, chickens, pea-cocks, rabbits, and geese.
Justin made friends with this little guy. |
The botanical gardens are amazing to look at as well! They are immaculate with their hedge work!
The park also contained a real squid boat that you could go through and look at, a fire truck, and a helicopter.

The park also contained a very large mother and child statue from the Jomon Period (~1,000 - 14,000 BC).
All in all a great park with lots to do and see! It will be a beautiful place to visit when the leaves start changing colors!
