Starbucks

I am happy to announce that Hachinohe has given me an early Birthday present. They have opened a Starbucks conveniently located near Justin's game rink! Since Justin's equipment manager's girlfriend is working at Starbucks we got a V.I.P. pass for a free latte at their exclusive open house. Therefore, Kathy (the other import's wife), Mara (the Canadian Assistant coach's wife), and Miki (the head coach's wife) were the lucky ones that got to taste Hachinohe's newest coffee hangout first! You must have an invite to enter!

I was very excited to see a familiar atmosphere that also showcases both a Japanese and an English menu!

We were given one of two complimentary options: "drip coffee" or a latte. Since it was 85 degrees out with 90% humidity, I decided on the ICED latte. I have been avoiding caffeine during my pregnancy, and since they said they will not have de-caf until the store officially opens, baby and I got a full dose of caffeine that I haven't had in 9 months! I felt as though I was ready to run a marathon after! I forgot what caffeine can do to you! WOW!!

They also gave us a complimentary chocolate chip scone or cinnamon roll as well. We felt truly spoiled!

Our Starbucks also features something completely unheard of over here (other than at McDonald's)...a drive-thru! However, us North Americans were told not to use it since they will not be able to understand us. It will be easier to come in and point at what we will like.

It was a great girls outing, and a wonderful afternoon!
